Uttarakhand Banned Cultivation of BT brinjal

The BJP government in Uttarakhand has banned cultivation of BT brinjal in Uttarakhand. In statement Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the chiefminister of uttarakhand said that Uttarakhand is an ecologically sensitive state and ban on the cultivation of BT brinjal was necessary to protect biodiversity of the state.

Marriage registration made mandatory in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Government decided to make registration of marriages mandatory in Uttarakhand. As per this new rule all persons who marry would have to register their wedding within 90 days of the ceremony.

Mahakumbh Mela 2010 at Haridwar, Uttarakhand
